Giving the Gift of Vision

Giving the Gift of Vision

Connect Global was able to give glasses to and improve vision for seniors in need.

There are many ways that Connect Global has chosen to help and raise up the communities in Honduras. We have many large projects, but you may be surprised to find out that along the way we also find other ways to make a difference as well.

One of the ways we recently supported the communities in Honduras was by bringing new eye glasses to a senior home. These glasses were donated to Connect Global, and we knew that we had the perfect recipients. We have been visiting this special home over the past year and providing many different valuable gifts to this amazing group.

In addition to these glasses we have also provided a fully functional aquaponic food system. This is a supplement to the homes already functioning chicken coops and in ground gardens. This is a way for the home to provide some extra proteins and fresh veggies to an already vulnerable group of people and help ensure a nutritious diet.

A quality of life improvement is easier to achieve than you may think.

We are grateful for you and for all the supporters we have been so fortunate to have been backed by over the years. We are always on the look out for more ways to support and help these communities and will always share with you the success of those outreaches and how you can plug in to. If you are able to give a donation whether it is financial or something like glasses, electronics, or medial supplies please click the donation button below or send us an email. Thank You

Back To School in Honduras

Back To School in Honduras

Connect Global has been sponsoring several students in Honduras since 2017.

One of the main ways we have been able to reach the communities and really make an impact is through the education of youngsters. We have been involved in supporting education in Honduras since Connect Global wa formed, and we have a very special group of partners and supporters in the US that have championed this cause for the last 2 school years.

We are looking to add more students to our roster of scholarship beneficiaries and we would love to invite you to join the several donors who are faithfully giving every month to ensure this group has everything they need to succeed this school year.

A quality education, by loving staff, supported by compassionate sponsors.

The Staff at the two schools we are currently providing scholarships for are amazing. They take great pride in the work they accomplish and understand their purpose very well. We are grateful to a very supportive group of sponsors who take this privilege very seriously and make up the gap between students who want to go to school but may not have the financial means to buy school uniforms, books, or pay their tuition.

Connect Global Visit to DINAF in La Ceiba Honduras

Connect Global Visit to DINAF in La Ceiba Honduras

We have been visiting and renovating space next to DINAF one project at a time and supporting their efforts to create a safe, clean, and properly equipped school for the children.

Dirección Nacional de la Niñez y la Familia (DINAF)  a community organization charged with the enforcement of the protection of children, adolescents, and families has a regional office and primary school here in La Ceiba. Our teams have been partnering with DINAf since January 2015, when The Mendoza Family moved to Honduras. We have seen many changes both in leadership and in the care the kids receive here. We have also seen the city make changes to the name and admin of this kindergarten.

The Kids here are amazing to spend time with.

Each time we have a team in La Ceiba we will try to visit this school and bring some joy with us. This time we brightened up their cafeteria by painting and had fun playing, swinging, and blowing bubbles.

A motivated and committed staff are keys to success

The Staff we met are all very motivated to make this the best location possible for the children and families they serve. On each visit, there have improvements. The Smiles on the kids are proof that their teachers and admin staff here are taking pride in the work they are accomplishing.

We also brought a microwave and several other components they have asked for to help the staff operate this school better.

Their funding is low and inconsistent but they have done the very best with what they have. This makes us very happy to support their efforts here.

The World Race Team has been such a huge blessing to our efforts in La Ceiba Honduras now for the second year in a row. There are still a few weeks left, but they have already made an indelible impact in the lives in Honduras. Below is a comment from Travis Moffitt and a few more pictures from the team.

We are so honored to serve alongside these great missionaries from the #WorldRace here at the Comedor de Jesucristo in La Ceiba,

They have each given so much of themselves.

Prayer is Powerful

Prayer is Powerful

Below is a Post written by one of the World Race team members Connect Global is hosting in La Ceiba. We are always looking forward to sharing experiences like this with our team members and being able to know that lives are being changed.

Before I came on the race I could count on one hand how many times I prayed aloud. Now, I crave it. I made it a mission of mine since month one to get over my fear. I thought my prayers didn't matter. I didn't think I was saying the right thing or my words weren't eloquent enough. I've come to realize it doesn't matter what words I say.

My prayer is just as powerful as the pastors in the room. I find joy in praying for someone who needs it. Especially a precious baby who has their whole life ahead of them. Since being in Honduras we have prayed over many people and each time I stepped up and laid hands on as many people as I could.

The other day I found myself starting to smile while praying. I knew the Lord was hearing every word. I knew how much He loved me and all those around me. I pray and have confidence in the fact that He is going to take care of these people i'm praying for. In whatever way that may look.

-Stephanie

Connected Community Marketplace Visits

Connected Community Marketplace Visits

Connect Global has partnered with Global Advance to bring hope and practical insight to the business community of La Ceiba, Honduras

We are very thrilled with the recent trip our team took to La Ceiba. The focus was two fold. One tract was centered on empowering women of La Ceiba. The second was focused on business leadership and increasing the business acumen of the community.

As a part of the Business Leadership Conference, the team conducted several Marketplace Visits to local businesses.

The Marketplace visits included an assortment of local businesses. Paint stores, to private schools, to candy stores and printing shops. These business leaders and owners benefitted from decades of accumulated business experience offered by the Global Advance and Connect Global Team Members.

Some of the business owners have been in business all of their lives, while others for only the last couple of years. Despite the length of ownership each of the business owners modeled a very high caliber of ethics, a record of success, as well as clear plans and vision for the future.

Each owner was glad to have personal and intimate conversations about the challenges each face as well as be celebrated for the success they have created.

Our teams learned a lot about what it takes to build and maintain a business in the City of La Ceiba. Some challenges are very unique to Honduras, while others are obstacles we all face when launching something we are passionate about.

I believe everyone involved was encouraged by each other and we all gained a great deal more perspective on what each other has experienced.

The Business Leadership Conference

This August we had the opportunity to provide a Business Leadership Conference to the City of La Ceiba. We partnered with Global Advance to provide both strategic and specific ways to grow businesses in La Ceiba. Global Advance believes that 'Training Christian businessmen and women in developing nations increases economic and spiritual capital throughout the world.'

Teaching Business Principles Through Personal Experience

Each session was full of practical tools as well as spiritual inspiration to become a financial force for good. Growing spiritually, and ethically strong businesses not only improves each business owners status but it has strong national and global impact as well.

Hearing the personal stories of both successes and challenges from each of the team members really resonated with the attendees. Questions were answered by the team and a time of networking was built into the schedule as well.

The business leaders really enjoyed the personal access they had to each of the speakers.

Marketplace Visits

The team also visited several local businesses and private schools to provide insight, encouragement and prayer for their business. The team was able to make about 10 of these marketplace visits, and were able to make financial investments into several businesses around town.

Thank You

Thank You for your prayer and encouragement for the city of La Ceiba. There are many stories here of people and families who have created opportunity for their families to sustainably get out of poverty and remain independent of foreign "handouts".

Connect Global has, from the outset, always encouraged partnership over traditional "handout" style giving. We believe the solutions for Hondurans exist within Honduras. We have come alongside to offer education, experience, and the encouragement to keep fighting for what is right.

By working Together we all become better citizens, better family members, better leaders, and better catalysts of change in our communities.
